What this is

EliteCabal is a free, non-official, fan-run server for Cabal Online Episode 8. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to ESTsoft or any official Cabal Online service. Cabal Online and all associated names and artwork belong to their owners; nothing here claims otherwise.

Creating an account means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not create one.

Your account

• One person may hold more than one account. You are responsible for all of them.
• You are responsible for your password. We cannot read it — it is hashed inside the database and never leaves it — so if you lose it, recovery goes through your email address.
• Give a real email address. It is the only way to confirm the account and the only way to get back into it.
• Accounts are not property. They cannot be sold, and they are not transferable.
• You may ask us to delete your account at any time. We will, and it is not reversible.

How to behave

Short list, because it is the whole of it:

• No cheating. No bots, macros, packet editors, memory editors, modified clients or exploiting bugs. If you find a bug that gives an advantage, report it; using it is the same as cheating.
• No selling anything for real money. Not accounts, not characters, not items, not Alz. This runs in both directions and is enforced on both sides of the trade.
• No harassment. Threats, slurs, sexual harassment and targeting people off the server all end the same way.
• No impersonating staff. Staff never ask for your password.
• No attacks on the service. Denial of service, scraping at a rate that degrades it, or attempting to access accounts or systems that are not yours.

We can suspend or close an account for breaking these, and we can remove items obtained by breaking them. We try to explain why, and we will look again if you think we got it wrong — but the decision is ours and there is no appeal beyond us.

eCoin and the shop

• eCoin is not money, not a deposit, and not redeemable for money. It has no value outside this server.
• The shop sells cosmetics. Nothing in it affects stats, experience, drop rates or upgrade odds, and that is not going to change.
• Items are delivered to your in-game Cash Inventory. Once delivered, a purchase is complete.
• eCoin and anything bought with it disappear with the account, whether you close it or we do.

eCoin cannot currently be bought. It is earned by playing. If that ever changes, the terms for it will be published here first.

No guarantees

This is a hobby project run on rented hardware by people doing it in their own time. It is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, that your characters and items will survive, or that it will keep running at all.

We take backups nightly and we would restore from them, but data loss is possible and so is the server closing. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it. Where the law does not allow that — and in the EU, for some kinds of harm, it does not — nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be waived.

Changes

These terms can change. Material changes will be announced in the news before they take effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept them.
